Initially a commercial synthesizer by Vember Audio, Surge XT is now a free and open source software. It is compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux and can be accessed as a VST3 module or an AU on Mac. Recently, Surge was redeveloped using the JUCE framework and has been updated with additional features.
